Intimately convinced that the human being is first and foremost a spiritual being, I am very interested early in the humanist and orientalist philosophies that lead me naturally to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga and then Kundalini Yoga.

Today, I teach these two forms of yoga that enrich each day's inner life.

I define myself first of all as a sadhaka (practitioner) and a researcher and especially as a teacher who believes that discipline is the essence of any spiritual approach.

So for the last 12 years, every day before sunrise, I have been subjected to an unchanging ritual, sadhana, which leads me to practice the traditions that I teach to my students.

My progressive awareness of the multi-dimensions of the human being (body / mind / spirit) naturally led me to explore all facets of Yoga practice (Yamas, Niyamas, Asanas, Pranayama, Mudras, Dharana , Dhyana) its philosophical and mystical foundations (Yoga sutras, Banis, Tantras) and energy intelligences (Chakras, Prana, Maruths).

After working for several years in the business world, I founded 8 years ago www.yoga-escape.com which is a training school in Traditional Yoga: it organizes yoga retreats on five continents and form of future teachers in traditional yoga.

To enrich my initiation course and my formation, I have never ceased to inspire me from different sources (Tantra, Vedas, Banis, Ayurveda, Yoga sutras) and different teachers (Petri Raisanen, John Scott, Eddie Stern, Sharath Jois, Karta Singh). Today I am the teachings of an Indian spiritual Master who is in the path of Raja Yoga which is a real way of synthesis.

Today I introduce to my student's yoga in its holistic and spiritual dimension to try to better understand the following systems: Asanas, Prana, Chakras, Mantras, Devas etc that demonstrate the complexity and beauty of life.

Yoga for me

Access to our true identity is a long process of spiritual maturation that can take time. Yoga one day reveals us to our true nature and our being in all its components begins to transform gradually. The "sleeper" wakes up.

When this day arrives our certainties waver.

We realize that only a deconstruction of our illusions and attachments can free us to bring forth a Reality now in direct contact with the Divine who breathes within us.

Yoga is now your companion, your dearest friend who helps you bring out your consciousness: we realize that we are on this earth to awaken, to share, to help, to heal and to transmit in humility and patience the teachings of the Masters of wisdom.

Yoga for me is a school of patience, courage, and humility.

My teaching is based on the different techniques of Ashtanga Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and Ancient Yogic Practices and accompanies each student to forge links between the physical, mental and spiritual.

I put a special emphasis on Mantras and Conscious Breath to get students to realize their true nature.

I support and encourage each of my students on their path through attentive listening and great kindness.

Laurent Peyret

Professor of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Kundalini Yoga

 Laurent Peyret
